New work for Isle of misfits show at Canteen in Ottawa, Canada

Here are some pics for a group show i'm doing called Isle of misfits for the canteen gallery/shop in Ottawa, Canada. I don't have the exact specific date yet. The show was themed around the idea of demented toys. It was a cool concept to me and influenced me to try some new things. check it out. I will have more info on the show later on.

Crazy Bike Ride!!

Well after being cooped up for a little over a month. I really wanted to get out and get some fresh air. I went on this crazy bike ride with my man Erik and his girlfriend Kristin. We started of in downtown San Francisco, headed to pier 39 and ended up going across golden gate bridge and back. All I can say is it was mad cold and my thighs are still sore haha!! Great fun though. Thanks Erik and Kristen for a cool trip!

Solo Show!! Behind The Curtain at Henri&Odette Gallery in Las Vegas Dec.12th

First of I want to thank Jennifer Harrington for contacting me out of the blue with this fabulous opportunity to share and grow as an artist. I really am proud of the work I created for the show. Although the last month or so I have not slept much. I was able to really paint about some issues that have affected my life and many others also in America. The show will be from Dec.12th - Jan 6th at the Henri-odette gallery in Las vegas. So if you know anyone in that area pleas spread the word.





Here is my artist statement for the show!!

Every day the climate of American is changing. It is growing darker and darker everyday. The powers that be have put up a puppet show to blind us from the truth. How many people die each day from the war? What steps is the government taking to end the financial crisis? Why do you feel you need that new pair of shoes? We have all been blinded from the truth which has been hidden behind the curtain. All we can see is the puppets in front of us. But what if we could see behind the curtain to the hands that control the strings. Would things change or would we go back to watching the show.
These are issues I feel many of us are aware of but yet we all seem to live through our lives like robots. How many times have you heard of something bad on the news facing the country only to change the channel to watch your favorite show. We need to remember. We need to see behind the curtain.

Lastly I wanted to give you a sneak peek to one of the pieces in the show.





This piece is titled: The Real Power Behind Change.

Out of hibernation!! Obama what?

Hello everyone,
Well I have been hard at work painting for three shows I'm doing for the month of December.
First off can you believe it Obama is going to be president. I really didn't know how to react to this momentous occasion. It feels so good to know Bush will be gone. As a person with a mixed cultural background its great to see a mixed race president coming to office. I never thought I would see a person of color get voted as president. Now it feels like anything can happen. I just hope we can keep the change going and keep this president accountable. To me Obama signifies the birth of a new era and a powerful symbol of what we as Americans can do to change many of the horrible things being done in this country and by this country to others. I have great hope for the future but I feel we all must keep the work up and not rely on Obama to fix our problems.
Wow change can actually happen!!

The little Big Show!!

Hello all, I know its last minute but i'm apart of this benefit show coming up in Canada titled The little big show!!
open reception October 16th, 2008 at the Canteen,238 Dalhousie, Ottawa, Ontario.







Canteen is proud to present The Little Big Show, a one-night group showcase benefiting the arts program of the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. Works generously donated by a wishlist of local and international artists will be on hand and up for grabs!

Items for sale will be as diverse as the artists themselves, ranging from limited edition prints, to original sketches, to mixed media panels.

Catchin Up!!

What's up everyone. I have been mad busy lately with things. So I wanted to catch you up on my adventures from the past month.
Here are some pics from the Radiohead set at Outside Lands. It was crazy and mad inspiring.

Even thou it was complete anarchy after it was still a great show.

Checking out Oakland

Well a few Sundays back I got to check out this daytime Oakland fiesta by lake Merrit.





They had an art show going on with chairs painted by young artists. Some very cool stuff.











This name looks so familiar.





They had free food in here. so you know I was happy.





After that I just chilled out and watched the sites.
People playing 4 square. I miss that game.

2d/3d Art Show Pics

2d/3d A Customs Show coming soon!!!!

Hey everyone, so the 2d/3d customs show is coming up. The idea was to create a 2d art piece and also paint a 3d Toy to go along with the piece. I got a sneak peak at some of the stuff in the show when I dropped my work of at Fabric8. They all look amazing.
The reception is Saturday August 16th. The show will be held at two locations Neon Monster on 901 Castro st from 3-7pm and also at FABRIC8 on 3318 22nd St. from 5-9pm. The pieces will be on view until September 6th so if you can't make it Saturday you still have time to check it out. Thank you Neon Monster and Fabric8 for putting this on.

First bike trek to San Francisco.

Hola mi amigos, I recently went out to San Francisco on my bike from my new home in Oakland. I quickly realized the difference between the flat streets of San Jose and the crazy roller coaster that is San Francisco.





So, the main reason I went there was to pick up a design it yourself Qee for the 2d/ 3d customs show I will be doing. I picked it up at the Neon Monster shop on 22nd and Castro. It's a cool shop they sell comics, art, music, and toys. All things I love.
you should check it out if your in the area.








Here is the Qee I will be painting for the show. I painted a small Qee once before for fun ,but it was a small one. Im interested in how this big one will turn out.
